For the MetaNooK 2017 I prepared a talk on the technique both in hard- and software about the hundred Trixel of my Stackenlichten project that I prepared a demo with. Besides the slides linked here there is also a video recording available from the awesome organizers of the MetaNooK. If you are only interested in blinking LEDs, the live demo starts at 44:30.
